Electrical Design Manager
Design Manager is responsible for leading Electrical design, development, and innovation activities related to resistor products, ensuring compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and manufacturing feasibility. The role drives new product development (NPD), supports cost optimization through design improvements, and strengthens technical capability.
Product Design & Development
Lead design and development of resistor products such as:
- Wire Wound Resistors
- Power Resistors
- Dynamic Braking Resistors
- Fabrication Cabinets & Enclosures
- Load Bank / Harmonic Filter Resistors / Grid Resistors
- Custom-Designed Resistors
Ensure product compliance with customer drawings and technical specifications.
Develop new resistor variants based on market and customer requirements.
New Product Development (NPD)
Drive the complete NPD lifecycle including:
- Concept Development
- Prototype Validation
- Testing & Qualification
- Pilot Production
- Product Release
Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Marketing teams during product development.
Design Validation & Testing
Ensure proper testing validation including:
- Resistance Tolerance
- Thermal Performance
- Load Life Testing
- Environmental Reliability Testing
Approve engineering drawings and BOMs.
Customer & Vendor Technical Support
Interact with customers and vendors for technical clarifications.
Support RFQs with technical feasibility inputs.
Provide solutions for application-specific resistor requirements.
Cost Optimization through Design
Identify opportunities for:
- Material Optimization
- Design Simplification
- Alternate Material Usage
Support value engineering initiatives.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Work closely with:
- Production Team
- Quality Assurance
- Purchase / Sourcing
- Marketing & Sales
- Maintenance Team
Ensure smooth product industrialization.
Documentation & Compliance
Maintain design documentation as per ISO standards.
Ensure compliance with:
- Customer Specifications
- IEC Standards
- RoHS / REACH Requirements
Control Engineering Change Management (ECN / ECR).
Team Leadership
Lead the Design & R&D team.
Allocate projects and monitor progress.
Develop technical competency within the team.
Flexible and willing to undertake local, domestic, and international travel based on organizational requirements.
